The Warmth of India
Dearest %FIRSTNAME%,
Greetings from India!
As we collectively celebrate our hometown team winning the superbowl while simultaneously finding our footing in how, when and where we support the safety and wellbeing of ourselves and our neighbors and communities during the horror of this regime, I'm coming to your inbox from the warmth of India to to share... but also to connect first, with a reminder of what remains constant.
Awareness itself — the unchanging witness beneath all changing experience. Everything else- (thoughts, emotions, seasons, identities, regimes, the external world, even the body) - it shifts, moves & always changes.
What remains steady = Consciousness — Purusha, Atman, the Seer
The KEY is the remembering. The KEY is non-attachment = Aparigraha
And the reminder that when one door opens, it's an invitation to choose. To step forward and through it, or to close it to make space for the next open door of opportunity, growth, transformation, exploration.
What's calling you forward.....and are you listening?

This epic trip to India is not an escape, it's a reawakening and a remembering.
It's awareness made manifest in bearing witness to how and what is taking shape, and my part in it within myself and within the collective consciousness.
I've been drawn to seeking out the rhythm of temple life and the ancient practices of puja and darshan.
Puja is the act of devotional offering — flowers, leaves, light, breath, prayer — a humble gesture of love and gratitude made tangible.
Darshan is what we receive in return: the sacred exchange of seeing and communing with a moment of blessing and presence in sacred space.
I was honored to be welcomed into a temple puja at both a Hanuman and a Lakshmi temple, alongside local community in simple, sincere devotion, offering fresh tulsi leaves to Hanuman, honoring strength, service, and steadfast courage, and later, lotus flowers and fragrant jasmine at Lakshmi’s temple, symbols of abundance, wisdom and wealth in all the ways.
The reverence and gratitude for the opportunity to receive in these sacred spaces is profound.
After each ritual, I received darshan, marked by the pujari (Hindu priest) with a small tilaka on my forehead — red kumkum at Hanuman’s shrine and golden yellow turmeric at Lakshmi’s — earthy, colorful blessings that felt like prayers resting directly on the skin.
In Chennai, I wandered the ancient Kapaleeshwarar Temple, sitting among bells, incense, chanting, and feeling the living heartbeat of devotion (Bhakti) that has moved through those stones for centuries.
And in Pondicherry, into a Ganesha temple - so powerful and alive with love- feeling awe at the countless depictions of Ganesha, each shaping the invitation of remembrance.
Reminders of the power within us to remove obstacles and open to the new beginnings always available, walking beside us, shaping the stories of our being.
These experiences are yoga at its root - not complicated or performative, but relational and available.
It is devotional - an offering- a bow, a flower placed with intention, a moment of inner stillness amidst our shared humanity.
We travel tomorrow to Kerala and already, for now, I will return home carrying the quiet whisper of Hanuman’s strength & courage, Lakshmi’s wisdom & abundance, Ganesha’s love & protection, and the steady pulse of prayer felt in every temple.
I'm grateful to continue weaving this spirit of reverence and presence back into our practice and our community together.
